workspace margins (the window maximize behavior)

Hello,

I'm both a KDE user and a XFCE user. There is one feature in XFCE that I miss in KDE: workspace margins. This allows you to set the margins for the screen, so that when any window is maximized, it won't cover those margins. The description in XFCE looks like this: "Margins are area on the edges of the screen where no window will be placed".

I've tried changing the settings in KControl -> Desktop -> Window specific settings, but it seems I'm unable to get this result. Usually the window buttons disappear, and what I need is a quite normal behavior / appearance, but when I maximize the windows (any of them) to have an uncovered margin to the left. Did anyone try / need this too?

Thanks.
