Konqueror default create mask

Konqueror seems to create files with mask 600. Can I change this setting to 644? I want to have the files globally readable but not editable. 640 works too, for group readability.

I run Ubuntu, so I'll post this on the Ubuntu forum aswell, but I figured this might be a KDE issue hence I post here too :)

Are you talking about files created by kde itself, or by the users inside of kde?? If it's the users then you're thinking about something completely outside kde and the DE. That's your umask and you can set it in /etc/profile or your local profile, or possibly /etc/bashrc, /etc/bash.bashrc, .bashrc or .bash.bashrc depending on if you want it local/global and your distro. For debian based stuff like Ubuntu it should be /etc/bash.bashrc.
