KDE4 search capabilities

Hello!

The last days I thougt about the benefit of a program like paper (http://mekentosj.com/papers/) for MacOS. The idea is taken from (http://de.kde-apps.org/content/show.php/…+for+developers!?content=58990).

This app is able to search direct pubmed (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?db=pubmed). This is nothing special. E.g. kbibtex (http://www.unix-ag.uni-kl.de/~fischer/kbibtex/) and kbib (http://user.digisurf.com.au/~thachly/kbib/) can do this as well. But I think this is the wrong place to implement this feature. This is about searching, or hopfully finding, what you are searching for. I think this should be implemented globaly in the KDE4 search dialog.

Proposal: Make KDE4 search dialog able to search online databases like pubmed or make it possible to write plugins which do the real work.

Is this possible? Who is the right one to ask? I hope, this forum is not totaly wrong for KDE4-Brainstorm. :)

Cheers -- W. Mader
