When i receive a link in kopete, it opens with epiphany, even though firefox is my default browser.
How do i remedy this?

Kopete just uses the KDE settings for this. Go to Kcontrol and set your default webbrowser!

I'm not sure how big of a bump this is, and I dont really care either. This thread is one of the first links you click if you are googling to try to remedy this problem and its massively gay that it hasnt been figured out.

There was some other links involving modifying a KDE config file, but that didn't work for me - I just finished emerging kcontrol in gentoo

my suggestion is to emerge it w/o any KDE-related use flags.

Source code

1
 # env USE="alsa -kdeenablefinal -kdehiddenvisibility -arts -kde" emerge kcontrol

should work n_n;;

and i guess if you use debian it would be

Source code

1
 # apt-get install kcontrol
USE="gnome -kde"
