KIO:FileCopyJob really slow

I am debugging a problem with Amarok and have narrowed the problem down to FileCopyJob. The copy is from a web url to a local URL on a usb device. The "web url" is actually local, but being served by apache.

Using KIO:FileCopyJob, the copy can take between 5 and 10 minutes. I've watched the file grow, and it actually is taking that long. If I use wget from the same URL to the same file location, it takes under 10 seconds.

Is there some way to speed up FileCopyJob, or at least tell why it is copying so slowly? Thanks
