kontact suite: issues & questions

I've used kde for a long time but I'm only just started switching from pen & paper to kontact to organise my life.
I do have a few issues though:

1. The kontact toolbars, both contact parts and app parts suffer from icons vanishing and reappearing at will. This only happens if I customize the toolbars, icons I have added don't show up and others I haven't added do.
Also, I closed the sidebar and added the navigator toolbar at the bottom instead. With the navigator tooolbar ALL icons mysteriously vanish and reappear at will also. The toolbar is still there but no icons. After several restarts they will suddenly be back and then a bit later they are gone again.

2. In the calendar part, is there any way to change the setup of the work week? I want the work week to start on Thursday and end the following Wednesday.

3a. Thunderbird/icedove is the only mail client I have ever used and I'm now trying out kmail as a replacement.
For the most part I'm finding kmail much better but I find it's hit and miss whether it shows up withing kontact or in it's own window when I select mail in contact. Is it something I'm doing wrong maybe?

3b. Again with kmail, is there no way to re-order folders in the folder pane? It seems I can only have alphabetical ascending|descending and it all looks very cluttered and untidy. I want to keep my accounts seperate but organised and in kmail they are all over the place.
Also is it possible to make those folder icons larger?

Hope someone can help.
