Kmails strange behavior

Smth wrong with kmail. I can't check mail under normal user account. It works with neither local nor remote POP3 servers. Though I can send mail through smtp as user and as root I also can send and retrieve mail. Its very strange that it doesn't even show an attempt to start a process of retrieval. There is an option «Pre-command» I fill with smth like touch /tmp/test and it never shows up (under normal user). Another thing is that I am able to start some version of pop3 session when pressing «Check What the Server Supports» button in «Extra». Kmail recognizes correctly encryption and authentication method of a pop server.
There is no chance that I messed up with configs because I installed fresh opensuse10.2 and kde, that bundles with it. So, can anyone show me a way to tackle it.
