Installing a projector

Hi, tommorow night I'll be atending a conference and I'll have to connect a projector to my laptop.

I don't know what kind of projector it will be. Is there any package I should download to be sure it will work fine? I think it's not needed as it's gonna be just as a second screen, but I really need to be sure.

By the way, I'm running on Kubuntu Feisty.
