webcam works, but does not send trough kopete

Hello all,

guess i have the same problem like many others. Tried to use my webcam with kopete and it does not send.

My chat-partners get only a black window... There is no difference if they use yahoo or msn, linux or xp. At least i can receive other webcams (sent from windows-systems) from linux the same problem... In the kopete settings i can chose between the tv card and the webcam. The tv-card shows better pictures in colour, the webcam is only shown in black/white...

In some chat rooms with flash apps i can sent images in high quality... - but firefox crashes from time to time...

Any one some idea where to change some settings or ports or similar?

Some facts about my system:
Linux 2.6.18.8-0.1-default i686
openSUSE 10.2 (i586)
3.5.6 "release 64.1"
kopete 0.12.4
Mustek Gsmart mini 2
spca504

thx for any idea!!!

wild guess: your firewall isn't blocking the ports needed for sending webcam images?

Today i installed the new kubuntu as a second distro on a free partition on my computer, and it worked... why? Why not with Suse?
