Multiple X Screens: how to have just 1 desktop on 1 of the screens??

I have multiple screens configured because I want the output of video players to go to my big LCD television instead of the monitor. To make that work I configured X to use 2 different screens. I did NOT configure Xinerama because I have no intention of ever using the television to show anything but video so being to move windows to it will only be a nuisance.

All of this works without a problem. The only thing that I would like to change is the fact that I now have 2 desktops! This not really a big problem or anything but I would like to know how to configure KDE to leave that second screen alone (I don't even need a window manager for it). Does anybody know how to do that?

i don't think that is possible.

Or you might need to start 2 x-servers, one with KDE and one with a plain window manager.

But i don't know if it is possible to redirect x-server :0 to monitor 1 and x-server :1 to monitor 2.

I think best solution is to just run the video application full screen and not to bother about the fact that the tv-screen has a desktop underneath it.

You might be right, although it _is_ possible to get rid of it afterwards by killing the second kwin, kdesktop, kicker and khotkeys that get started when configuring a second screen.

And I did figure out that they get started by ksmserver but I haven't figured out yet if it's possible to tell ksmserver to leave the second screen alone. It's configuration file has an item called ScreenCount which is set to 2 in my case, but setting it to 1 doesn't do anything and it just gets reset to 2 after a restart of X.
