Problem starting kde

I recently installed the latest version of KDE with Arch LInux. when I go in to start kde for the first time i get in no problem. If I log outand try to go back in I get a black screen. I can ctrl-alt-backspace out of that fine but cannot get back into KDE without do a system reboot.

I am using an IOGEAR KVM switch, but also tested it without using the KVM and had the same problem.

I am new to LINUX and all so really not quite sure what else (logs, ETC...) I should put up here. I tried editting the xorg config file with no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

weird problem. sounds more like videocard or something. can you restart the Xserver (ctrl-alt-backspace or choose it from menu in loginscreen), see if it helps...

RE: Problem starting kde

In case you have third party binary drivers like Ati or NVidia I'd suggest to disable them and see if the problem persists.
