Priviliges for install app

I am new to this, so hope this is a simple question.

I am using kconfigure to configure, make and install apps.

The problem is that during install it does not have the privileges needed to make the directories required for the new app.

I probably need to be logged in with admin privileges before running kconfigure but
canĀ“t figure out how to do that.

Thanx, Alan

you can use su -c kconfigure, sudo kconfigure or login as root and then enter kconfigure

with su and login with username 'root' you need to provide the password of root, with sudo (on *ubuntu) you need to provide the password of the main user.
