Failed to end X session properly

I installed OpenSuse 10.1 on a Dell E1705 laptop. During installation, I chose to install all packages, to start system at runlevel 3, to use KDE as default Desktop, nothing else customized.

After installation, I can run startx command starting X window. If I do nothing in an X session, I can end this session with a series of error messages and shell prompt back. If I do use some window application, I can not get shell prompt back after I end an X session. In such a case, I have to key in Ctrl-C to return to shell.

I am a first-time Suse and KDE user. Please give me some clue about which direction I should go.

I attached the .X.err as X.err for reference.

Thanks
