Console messages

Hello everybody

I am a network user and I keep getting network messages occasionally popping up in the middle of my screen, which can be extremely annoying as the whole screen shifts with it, the display gets screwed up and I need to switch desktops to restore the proper display.

I learned that these messages are console messages from the console that runs in the background ("behind" KDE). I could redirect these messages to the Console Message Viewer (X console, xconsole), or also to an X Terminal (xterm) if I opened it with the -C option.

The thing is that I don't want such windows to be present on my desktop or my task bar. I work with Konsole, but I couldn't redirect the messages to Konsole shells so far. Does anybody have any advice for me how I can do that, or how I redirect them to something like a log file?

Greetings

Sebi
