File extension hide

Hi good day to all. I'm prepared to used KDE desktop since when i was learned linux system. then one thing I want to know is how i can hide the file extension in some application like I'm going to hide the open office application the ( .ods, .doc, .xls, .pps, .mpeg, .jpeg) because it safe when the file extension to be hide.

please show me how. Thanks!

You can't, see this bug report. It's not likely it will be implemented though.

much better is to hide just like ms windows you can hide or unhide. because when some users renaming the files he/she include the file extension and thats why many files has been distroyed
