konqueror --geometry oddness

konqueror --geometry behaves unlike any other desktop app I'm used to (note: I am not a KDE user). When I give a --geometry argument to an app, I expect it to use that for the initial window geometry, but any subsequent manual adjustments to the window size or placement should remain until I again manually adjust it.

That's not what seems to be happening when I start konqueror with --geometry. What I see is that after startup and after I have manually resized the konqueror window, every time I switch to a new tab, konqueror jumps back to the original startup geometry.

So, I guess what I'd like to know is if I should expect --geometry to only set the initial window geometry and never again enter into the picture? Or should I try something else to do get that behavior?
Thanks.

(Konqueror 3.5.2 on Ubuntu Dapper, with sawfish window manager).

RE: konqueror --geometry oddness

I had a look in the source code, and it's quite hard to fix, I don't think it will happen in the KDE 3 series. Please report a bug at http://bugs.kde.org so we don't forget about it. Thanks in advance.
