[Kopete] Problem with google talk voice chat

Having a small problem with the google talk voice chat in kopete 0.12.1. I can start a voice call and my friend can hear me ok, but I can't hear him. I know my mic works because it works in skype. Any ideas?

Make sure that no other program is accessing your soundcard. And ensure that the other person's microphone is working.
Perhaps you have a program running that blocks the audio-out from your soundcard?

I have tried kopete without any other program using sound running, no difference. He hears me perfect - I don't hear him, and don't even know where to start looking for the problem.

Already tried fiddling with some settings in KMix? I assume all of your other sound applications work as desired?

Yes I have tried at least most if not all of them. First I suspected that it might be my firewalls, but turning them of didn't resolv it.

I've got a similar problem.
Yesterday I compiled kopete (from kde-3.5.5 release) with jingle support. I tested it with my friend, who also got kopete from kde-3.5.5. It worked fine, sound quality was good.

But I had no luck trying to talk with a person who uses Google Talk client. We couldn't hear each other.

As you understand, it is not a microphone or speakers trouble, as we checked it with skype recently. And there were no other software, that use microphone...
Any ideas?
