Any free dvd player for Linspire?

I am a newbie to Linspire. I thought it would work a lot better than Windows. So far, I am not too sure. Maybe it's just a huge learning curve for an ol' dog. ?( Anyway, I am looking for a free dvd player for Linspire 5.0. I don't think (we) should have to 'pay' for one. I do not know much about coding and such. Please help. Thank you all for your time. Tiffany

RE: Any free dvd player for Linspire?

Specifically for Linspire, I don't think there is one. What you can do is try to install one from debian, using apt-get.
The dvd playing works in any of the players, just install the library libdvdcss2.
Unfortunately, like is often said in the Linspire forums; CNR may or may not work thereafter.

Well, Linspire did pay for the dvd enconding license, so... :D

If you are in doubt about Linspire, you could try Kubuntu in stead: also Debian based, quite userfriendly, and software updates etc at no costs.
