Kghostview font problem

Hi,
I´m having difficulties viewing .ps files with kghostview, whenever I try it I get an error like this:

Fontmap entry for Proxy has an invalid file or alias name!  Giving up.


I looked in ~/.fonts/Fontmap but there is nothing that looks erroneous to me. What could be wrong?
I´m using Slackware 10.2 with KDE 3.4.2

Hi,

Better late than never: the Fontmap file seems problematic.
There are embedded spaces in the 'Proxy' font names.

Replace the lines (N= 1 to 9):

Well at last someone!

OK now it doesn't give me errors but I'm still having problems viewing .ps files.
,they look all messed up.

Did you try viewing a file that is known to work?

I used the CUPS print test file.
On my slackware box I found two of such files:
/usr/share/cups/data/testprint.ps
and
/opt/kde/share/apps/kdeprint/testprint.ps

Try running "gs <filename>" from within an X console.
Either the page pops up or you should get error info.

Btw, "messed up" as info is rather difficult to trace :-)

Console shows you are using ESP Ghostscript 8.15.

There are bugs reported with version 8.15.
Google "esp ghostscript slackware 10.2" for stories.
Some people solve their problems by downgrading to ESP Ghostscript 7.07 (from Slackware 10.1) or by upgrading to AFPL Ghostscript 8.53 and later.

Ghostscript versions can be found here.

Thanks a lot.
I see that even Slack.11 has the same package.
Soon I will upgrade to 11th so I wondered if it has the latest version.
