[Kopete] Migration from 0.11.1 to 0.12 killed self-nickname

Hi, I use Kopete for AIM and I must sya that I love it and prefer it over every other AIM client I've tried. That said, I used to have it set up so that everyone had nicknames instead of screennames (so I don't have to remember everything) this included my self so that in conversations it would look something like this:

<timestamp> Jon: <message>

however after migrating to Kopete 0.12 it now looks like this:

<timestamp> jmja89: <message>

despite the fact that a global identity is enabled and set to have the custom nickname "Jon." Why does this happen and how do I change it back? On another note, how come one of my buddies doesn't need to have a custom nickname enabled, that is under Display Name Source it has From Contact name: Abhi < his username > whereas with all my other buddies it is like this under From Contact name: username <username>?
