[konqueror] New annoying caching feature for USB storage

each time i connect my camera and try to view pics on it konqueror copies the file i want to view to /tmp first with another name. this is really annoying how do i disable it? there seems to be nothing for it in preferences. i know i can go to /media/disk and it wont do it but that is also a PITA.

Which application do you use do view the images in?

The described behaviour usually indicates that the application is either not capable of handling KIO URIs or not telling KDE so.

Of course in your case this shouldn't be a problem because the URI is actually another name for a local path, so there seems to be a bug in the code for detecting that :(
