[kopete] Logs causing lag

Everything was being pretty slow on my computer (Kubuntu, using KDE 3.5.1 but issue also occurred in previous versions), when investigating i deduced that Kopete was causing the problem. On a hunch i cleared all the log files (from around Nov 2005, quite large) and everything was fine (after a restart). Judging from the hd activity light on my box there was a lot of disk access going on when the logs were there.
This also happens when editing the bookmarks in Konqueror which i think are also stored in the same sort of format.

Is this an error with Kopete or whatever KDE uses for XML processing? and how do i rectify it, if at all?

Other than that, great program!

[kopete] Logs causing lag

I'm afraid the Kopete plugin that writes the logs is not as efficient as it could be. At the moment there is no fix for this issue.
