KDE Taskbar applet Colors

Okay, I have hunted long and hard through the internet, and have found nothing that will tell me how to do this. What I want is to know how to change the color of the application buttons (those little rectangular bars with the names of the applications that are currently open) on the task bar so that it will match the rest of the color scheme (because silvery bluish buttons on a black task bar really don't match). I have checked out everything under control center that would be related, and can't find anything. But, I know that it can be changed because it changed color when I installed a downloaded theme.

I am running simply mepis (3?), with KDE 3.3. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think that this can be done in the control-center -> Desktop -> Taskbar
Change the appearence into "For transparency". If I remember that right, this setting makes the buttons get the same color as the taskbar.

Go Control center> appearance & themes> colors... and select the "push button", chose whatever color you want and every control (including the taskbar windows) will change!
Good Luck!

tell me, what version of taskbar/KDE is it that has that? Because I know mine doesn't. Oh well.

arqsergio, thanks for that. I did figure that out a while after posting, but I guess that just verifies that there is no way to change the task bar independantly, Guess that just means that when I design a color scheme, I have to choose the colors even more carefully.

Thanks guys.
