klaptop and Xkb problemzzzz

Hi...

I just installed Mandriva 2006 Powerpack on my newly purchased Acer aspire 5024wlmi...
everything went ok with the installation except for the klaptop kde utility and the keyboard layout program....

in both graphical enviroments (kde and gnome) the klaptop utility does not function, ...the graphical desktop configurator program states that the kernel neads to be built again!!!
---begin--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your computer seems to have a partial ACPI installation. ACPI was probably enabled, but some of the sub-options were not - you need to enable at least 'AC Adaptor' and 'Control Method Battery' and then rebuild your kernel
---end----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i saw a past-posted message and a fella says exactly the same...don´t u think that this is wrong since the kernel i use is the newest one. the release of my kernel is typed among the lines:
---begin--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
$ uname -r
2.6.12-14mdk
---end----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
please give me some guidance...i think that there must b something else, apart from recompiling the kernel!!!

the second problem i got is that, since i am greek, i wanted to add the greek keyboard layout...but my pc denies to do so :^D ...so it shouts the message bellow among the lines:
---begin--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Error activating XKB configuration.
It can happen under various circumstances:
- a bug in libxklavier library
- a bug in X server (xkbcomp, xmodmap utilities)
- X server with incompatible libxkbfile implementation

X server version data:
Mandriva Linux (X.Org X11 6.9, patch level 1.cvs20050915.2mdk)
60899900

If you report this situation as a bug, please include:
- The result of xprop -root | grep XKB
- The result of gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd
---end----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The strage thing is that on my previous machice (a Toshiba satellite) i had installed Mandrake 10.1 powerpack and NOTHING was wrong...

please help me...i´ll appreciate it alot!!!!

best regards, Vasilis
