Kooka [scan SW] fails to print to PS printer

The scan goes OK, and I can create files of different types, so I create a .BMP file. But when I attempt to print to a postscript printer, I get an error mesage:

"Print file is empty and will be ignored."

If I instead create an .EPS file, it prints [something] without an error message. Unfortunately, what it prints is a black dot in the middle of a white page.

Suggestions, anyone?
