Vim Kpart?

Hi everybody,
I have been trying to use Vim embedded in KDE applications, without any success. First I go to "Vim Embedding" section in the Control centre, and the test there is succesful. If I now use Konqueror for instance to preview a file, it just pops up a empty gvim window (no embedding).

If I go further and choose vim as the embedded text editor in the "Component Chooser" section of the Control Centre, everything that uses the KTextEditor interface (KDevelop, TaskJuggler etc...) just crashes miserably.

Any help or pointers will be appreciated.

Thanks
Marius

RE: Vim Kpart?

You ought to take a look at KVim, a port of Vim to KDE. It's now unmaintained, but it still works pretty well. I've never had much luck with embedding the standard GTK+-based Vim, but KVim includes a real KPart and seems to work fairly well.
