is there no place to get help with arts?

hello
i need help with arts compiling problem, but i cannot find anyone to help me, and i cannot installed latset version or any version of kde without arts first.
where can i find someone that will support arts?
please help me...
i have kde 3.3.4 installed and i really wants to update it but cannot only couse of arts

It is possible to install kde without arts, but you lose some functionality (sound notification) with it. You can compile it without arts with the --without-arts ./configure option.

I think you can post the compilation error here. But you need to give the last importent lines of output. With it, it is possible to see what causes the problem.
