Kontact -Contacts file location is where?

Where is the file of data for Kontact contacts? I'm trying to find it from a backup to use with the freshly installed Mepis system i have. I searched and monitored in .kde and .kde/apps and can't seem to find it.
And is there documentation of a more technical nature around that might explain where Kontact keeps its file?

Seems to me it would be important to document the identity of the file(s) in which the contact information is stored so the file could be backed up regularly and then used, as I am trying to do, when a fresh install is done so the users contacts are brought into the new system.
Thanks.

Unless you had a setup that differs from the defaults, the standard contact resource file is
.kde/share/apps/kabc/std.vcf

The path of any non-default resource is listed in
.kde/share/config/kresources/contact/stdrc

or for other resource types the respective subdirectory of kresources
