[Kopete] - unable to compile

i'm running mandrake 10.1. i recently downloaded "kopete-0.9.2.tar.bz2" but when i try to compile it i get an error 'checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check your installation and add the correct paths!'.

i did a google search and learned that i need to ensure either xfree86 or xorg is correctly installed, so i installed the relevent files and yet i still get that error when i try to compile. is there anything i am doing wrong?

thanks in advance,

SomethingGood.

RE: [Kopete] - unable to compile

You need development packages. Like X11-devel, kdelibs-devel,... (at least that's how they are called in my system, I'm not sure what names does the Mandrake^H^H Mandriva use)
