Kmail send problem

Hello
I get the following message when trying to send mail from kmail 1.8.
---
Sending failed:
Authorization failed, An error occurred during authentication: SASL(-4): no mechanism available: No worthy mechs found authentication not supported
---
I rechecked setup and everything appears to be ok. Help or information would be appreciated. I googled the message but didn't see any solutions.
