some problems with kopete in KDE 3.4.0

Hi.

I use FreeBSD 5.3 and I just upgraded the whole KDE from 3.3.2 to 3.4.0. The first problem after logging back in was that I couldn't see any windows' titlebars. Changing windows themes/styles from control center didn't help. Okay, so I moved my old ~/.kde to ~/.kde.bak and started configuring my preferences from very beginning and almost everything seems to work now.

I haven't noticed any bugs but in those in kopete yet. I didn't want to start configuring kopete again so I copied my ~/.kde.bak/share/apps/kopete and ~/.kde.bak/share/config/kopeterc to ~/.kde (into right place). When I spoke with somebody, and closed the chat window, kopete just crashed. I didn't see any emoticons either. So I wanted to check my emoticons' configuration. When I tried to enter the Appearance tab in kopete's settings, kopete crashed.
Okay, I removed my ~/.kde/share/apps/kopete and ~/.kde/share/config/kopeterc and started over. Still, Appearance tab hangs: killall -9 kopete. Is kopete acting "funny" only on FreeBSD or everywhere and could I do anything about it?
One good thing also about kopete - ordinary ctrl+c seems to work now :D

And how can I see that crash-window (that pops up after some kde-app's crash) again?

Silver

problem with kde 3.4.0 toolbars

oh yeah, still..

if I configure some window's toolbars and move any action from left column (available actions) to right column (current actions), that action won't appear in the right column before I push OK. so for moving that action from right to left, I have to push OK and then restart configuring toolbars.

seems a nasty bug or a veeery weird feature :D

exactly same problem under linux

atrox, i'm getting exactly the same problem than you but under linux...

when i close a chat window it crashes and when i get into the Appereance Preferences it crashes too.

i ran kopete trought the terminal and got the following:

QGArray::find: Index 0 out of range
kopete (msn): WARNING: [void MSNSocket::slotSocketError(int)] Error: 17
QFile::open: No file name specified
QFile::open: No file name specified
*** glibc detected *** free(): invalid pointer: 0x08595813 ***

the last message is the one which crashes it down...

kde: 3.4.0
kopete: 0.10
glibc: 2.3.4
linux 2.4.29
slackware-current up to date

the funniest part is this:
http://kopete.kde.org/index.php
23/03/2005 - Kopete 0.10.0 is in KDE 3.4
KDE 3.4 includes Kopete 0.10.0. New features include contact photos in the contact list and in chats, more chatwindow styles, better KDE addressbook integration and a load of bugfixes.

http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=9891
This is Kopete 0.10. If you're using KDE 3.4 already, then you
should NOT download and install this release.

any idea?

as i suspected, there's probably some library inconsistency. under FreeBSD, there appeared new ports for kdelibs and kdebase. after upgrading them, Kopete seems more normal now (reinstalling "*kde*" didn't help before). i say "more", because there's still one weird thing - when a contact isn't connected to server, the icon in the left-bottom corner is colorful, but it shouldn't be so. at least it ain't so on my other FreeBSD 5.3 (there's KDE 3.4.0 also and Kopete works OK).

those problems are on my buddie's FreeBSD 5.3 too, so it ain't only one machine's problem. and this toolbars' thing.. am i the only one who has it? :(

and one more problem. i can't browse samba ;(. when i open smb:/ in konqueror, it shows me nothing. when i enter smb://my-samba-server, it shows me all the share my samba server has. i see directories and stuff right under shares too, but when i enter some share's subdirectory, it says me: "File does not exist: smb://my-samba-server/share/subdirectory/subdirectory". well, it ain't so on every samba server, there's some overall mess with caching or smth. so.. i have to browse samba with mount_smbfs right now ;(

but i suppose (and hope) those problems are related to FreeBSD so i'll better post some questions into FreeBSD's forum..
